Wiz's write-up credits 'AI-augmented tooling, particularly automated reverse engineering using IDA MCP' and does not name Claude. The Register and WebProNews name Claude Code.

    Deployer
Wiz Research (Sagi Tzadik, Nir Ohfeld, Ronen Shustin, Hillai Ben-Sasson, Yuval Avrahami, Noam Malron)
    Focus
    Cybersecurity
    Purpose
Claude Code is Anthropic's agentic coding tool, built to read a codebase, edit files, run commands and connect to external tools over MCP. Wiz used it, with IDA MCP, to automate reverse engineering of GitHub's compiled binaries. Analyzing code for flaws is within that general purpose. The benefit was an application of what the tool was built to do rather than a departure from it.
    AI contribution
The AI's documented contribution is speed of analysis, on the researchers' own account. Wiz writes that AI-augmented reverse-engineering tooling, particularly IDA MCP, let it rapidly analyze GitHub's compiled binaries and reconstruct internal protocols. Wiz says that speed would not have been feasible manually. Sagi Tzadik told Dark Reading that with AI tools it took under 48 hours from idea to working exploit. The Register adds that the team used Claude Code “to take a lot of the legwork out of the process”. The hypothesis, the exploit, the report and the fix were human work. Six named Wiz researchers confirmed RCE on GHES 3.19.1 and wrote what GitHub called a thorough report. GitHub's security and engineering teams reproduced the bug within 40 minutes and deployed the fix. GitHub's own post, the CVE record and the GHES release notes describe a Bug Bounty report without mentioning AI. The AI-assistance claim therefore rests on Wiz and on outlets quoting Wiz. Wiz's write-up, in the text as read, names IDA MCP and not Claude.

The CVE credit names a human finder “with assistance from Google Big Sleep”. Developer and the organization reporting the benefit are the same company. Purpose
Spark was built to find bugs and vulnerabilities autonomously by selecting functions to fuzz and generating and running fuzz tests. Finding this flaw was exactly that function, exercised in the vendor's own beta test.
    AI contribution
On the vendor's account, Spark selected the target, generated the fuzz test and ran it after a single “cifuzz spark” command. One manual step confirmed that the finding was real and exploitable under narrow conditions. wolfSSL's pull request and release notes confirm the bug, its location in pem_read_bio_key(), the timing and the reporter's first name. They mention neither AI nor Code Intelligence. The autonomous discovery therefore rests on the vendor's statements, repeated by QA Financial and SC Media, not on an independent test.

DefenseScoop describes the platform’s autonomous capabilities, but its suggestion that passive sensing helped locate the crew is an inference. Purpose
CBP's model was built to identify potentially suspicious patterns in vehicle border-crossing histories (DHS AI Roadmap 2024). It flags vehicles for secondary review at ports of entry. The San Ysidro seizure was that use, not a side effect.
    AI contribution
The model's contribution was the referral. DHS says it identified a suspicious pattern in the car's border-crossing history and flagged it for review. Mayorkas said the anomaly was identified in 1.4 seconds. The discovery of the narcotics and the arrest were done by officers in secondary review. No source states whether the car would have been referred without the flag. The model's counterfactual contribution is thus asserted by DHS, not demonstrated. The Monitor entry also bundles Mayorkas's claim that AI age-progression imagery has recovered abducted children. That claim names no case, date, or child.

No source describes an AI function in this operation. Politico says the ground robotic systems are “currently piloted by humans from a safe distance”. Jacob Parakilas of RAND Europe writes in The Conversation that they are “mostly still remotely operated”. He says autonomy is limited to tasks such as highlighting identified enemy positions. The Debrief says it is unclear how much remote human control was involved at each stage. Politico separately notes a January 2026 case in which a DevDroid robot “equipped with artificial intelligence elements” took three prisoners, a different event.

They also include Times of Israel 28 December 2025, 16 Mar, 27 Mar and 30 June 2026, and Wikipedia. They describe a high-power laser with a beam director and electro-optical targeting. Mines Eye aerial detection system (unmanned aerial platform with magnetometry, visual and infrared sensors, and AI detection of explosive remnants of war)
    Developer
Ukrainian developer not named in the UNDP release ('Developed in Ukraine')
    Deployer
State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), Kharkiv and Mykolaiv oblast demining teams; procured by UNDP with funding from the Government of Luxembourg
    Focus
    Defense and borders
    Purpose
Built to survey contaminated land remotely and flag explosive remnants of war, including anti-tank mines under vegetation. This lets clearance teams plan safely. The pilot was that intended use.
    AI contribution
UNDP's release attributes the detection of explosive remnants beneath vegetation to the system's artificial intelligence working on magnetometry and visual and infrared imagery. It reports only area scanned. No detection, false-alarm or confirmation figure is given. No source independent of UNDP and SESU was found. The developer is unnamed, so the AI component cannot be characterized further.

    Purpose
IdentiFlight is built to detect and classify flying eagles and curtail individual turbines to avoid collisions; reduced eagle fatalities are the intended outcome.
    AI contribution
The system's classification decisions trigger curtailment, so any fatality reduction runs through the AI. The peer-reviewed estimate is independent of the maker but is challenged by a peer-reviewed reanalysis (50%, interval including zero). The California assessment shows 23% of eagles missed and six times more non-eagle than eagle curtailments. The size of the benefit is therefore unsettled.

The model and active-learning rules were built to predict which Flint homes had lead or galvanized service lines and to direct inspections and replacements. The improved hit rate was the intended use.
    AI contribution
Predictions helped officials prioritize inspections and replacements. The field comparison also involved changes in geography and policy, so it does not isolate the model’s contribution. The monetary saving came from simulation.

The BBC caption says the AI-generated satellite technology detects moisture and movement in the ground, and Origin Tech describes AI-driven satellite insights. The system outputs suspected-leak points that Thames Water crews then locate and repair with conventional methods. The 800-leak and 8.7 million liters a day figures are Thames Water's estimates relayed by the BBC. They are reproduced in the utility's press release (Water Magazine) and trade press. Origin Tech's site adds vendor claims. No independent verification is among the sources.

    AI contribution
The level monitors detected an abnormal flow at Rowner. The machine-learning model raised the alert to the control room; by the company's account it distinguishes a forming blockage from daily rushes and rainfall. The jetting crew found and removed the fatberg. The articles are built on a Southern Water statement and a single quoted manager. They do not name the developer of the model and give no sensor data. No independent party confirmed that an overflow was imminent.
