What happened
Ofsted, the inspectorate for schools in England, inspected St George's CofE First School and Nursery in Redditch, Worcestershire, on 30 June 2026. The school belongs to Shires Multi Academy Trust. Ofsted published its report card on 10 September 2026 and judged leadership and governance at the expected standard. Inspectors found that leaders had given staff a coherent program of professional development that builds expertise over time. As an example, leaders had introduced artificial intelligence based professional learning, particularly in relation to inclusion. Ofsted states that this work is helping staff to save time, plan more effectively and develop their professional expertise. The report gives this finding in Ofsted's own voice and does not attribute it to staff. Inspectors met leaders, teachers and pupils, looked at pupils' work and talked to staff. Ofsted's guidance says that inspectors can consider the impact of AI use, and that Ofsted does not directly evaluate any AI tool. The report does not name the tool or describe how it works. It gives no figures for the time saved.

Ofsted. How Ofsted looks at AI during inspection and regulation. GOV.UK, first published 27 June 2025, updated 21 October 2025. It states how inspectors treat AI use.
We do not look at AI as a stand-alone part of our inspections, and we do not directly evaluate the use of AI, nor of any AI tool. However, inspectors can consider the impact that the use of AI has on the outcomes and experiences of children and learners.
