What happened
Ofsted inspected Cornwall Council's children's services from 1 to 5 July 2024 and published its report on 22 August 2024. It graded the services good. In a paragraph on the workforce, Ofsted writes that a recent development was being successfully piloted for managers. The development uses AI to support the accurate recording and reflection of supervision sessions. Ofsted does not say what inspectors saw of the pilot or how they judged its success. In their own reading of practice, inspectors found that supervision is mostly regular and addresses risk, with some records showing reflection. They do not link that finding to the pilot. The report does not name the tool, describe how it works or give figures.
