What happened
The China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) published C-ICAP results for the Geely Galaxy M9's assisted driving on 23 April 2026. It tested the car under the revised 2024 edition of its protocol. The car ran assisted-driving software SY03R11V01L01. It scored 98.5% for basic driving assistance, including 100% for collision avoidance and 94.0% for driver engagement. Highway navigation assistance scored 96.3% and city navigation assistance 90.6%. In the English version of its 2024 C-ICAP rules, CATARC states that its management center selects cars on sale "based on market performance". The rules add that the center "will independently acquire them based on random principles" and that "CATARC sets up a special fund budget each year for vehicle purchases". In a notice of 26 December 2025, CATARC says that it bought the M9 from a Geely sales outlet under its own selection plan. CATARC states that the result holds only for the tested sample, software version and test environment. CATARC does not mention AI.
