What happened
Thames Valley Police and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary built Bobbi, an AI agent on Salesforce's Agentforce platform. According to Salesforce, the forces built and tested it in 12 weeks in November 2025. Bobbi answers non-emergency questions online from approved knowledge articles and hands conversations to an operator when needed. His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services published its annual State of Policing assessment on 8 September 2026. Summarizing its inspections in the 2025 to 2027 program, the inspectorate found that some forces used artificial intelligence at the first point of contact. It writes that solutions such as Bobbi were helping forces manage non-emergency demand and improve the experience of people contacting the police. It adds that such solutions directed the public to the most appropriate service at the earliest opportunity. The inspectorate gives no figures. Salesforce, the platform's maker, states that Bobbi handles over 200 conversations a day and resolves 75% of them without an operator.
