Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, runs an integrated video monitoring center. Its AI smart monitoring detects abnormal behavior by people and other objects on the county’s cameras and shows that video first on operators’ monitors. The county says that this sharply cut plain monitoring time and raised monitoring efficiency more than tenfold. It says that early responses to major incidents more than doubled from the previous year. In March and July the system spotted fires in Docheon-myeon and Namji-eup early. Operators reported them at once, fire engines arrived within 10 minutes, and the fires were put out early. The figures are the county’s own, as Gyeongnam Domin Ilbo reported on 1 November 2026.
