In June 2025 a report arrived at 1:24 a.m. that a man had switched off his phone after sending a message that suggested suicide. Only one officer of the missing-persons team was available, and Dongan district has 2,931 cameras. Officers ran AIID, which showed that the man was last seen in a children's park, and ten officers searched until they found him. The Korea Herald relays the police estimate that a manual search could have taken more than 10 hours. AIID only narrows the search, and officers confirm matches by eye. The police say that privacy rules limit its precision. Anyang City said in October 2025 that police used AIID again to find an 88-year-old with dementia about three hours after the search began.
