In weeks six to ten, a typical teacher in the ChatGPT group spent about 56.2 minutes a week on this preparation, against 81.5 minutes in the comparison group, a saving of 25.3 minutes or 31%, and the EEF gives this finding a high security rating. Teachers used ChatGPT mostly for one or two activities per lesson, such as quizzes or new activity ideas. An expert panel that did not know how the resources had been made reviewed resources from 30 teachers, 15 in each group, and found no evidence of a difference in quality. Teachers used ChatGPT less often as the trial went on, and the times came from teachers' own weekly diaries.
