"account": "INTERPOL reported on 22 July 2019 that the MV NIKA had been detained by Indonesian authorities. The vessel was suspected of illegal fishing in the Southern Ocean. Its owner also owned the blacklisted STS 50 intercepted in Indonesia in 2018. INTERPOL tracked the vessel's movement with support from the UK not-for-profit OceanMind, sending daily reports to Indonesia, New Zealand, Panama, the UK and the US. Hourly updates aided by Global Fishing Watch (GFW) followed as it approached Indonesian waters. GFW's account (23 July 2019) says GFW analyst Imam Prakoso helped track the vessel from February 2019 after it illegally switched off its tracking system. It says a live multi-way communication between Indonesian naval and fishery officials, INTERPOL and GFW analyst Charles Kilgour exchanged information. GFW analysts helped predict its course and identify rendezvous points. Indonesian patrol boats ORCA 2 and ORCA 3 intercepted it on 12 July 2019 at 08:06 local time. The court outcome comes from a UK Government Blue Belt blog of 5 June 2021. That blog was no longer available as of 20 October 2026. The Indonesian Supreme Court gave its verdict on 27 February 2020, the captain was convicted, the owner fined Rp300,000,000 and the vessel forfeited. None of the sources describes a machine-learning or AI detection. OceanMind's homepage says only, in general terms, that it uses satellites, AI and human expertise.",

OceanMind's homepage says only, in general terms, that it uses satellites, AI and human expertise."
