"account": "Cal Fire's incident record lists the Trotter fire at Trotter Dr and Skyline Drive, west of Tehachapi, Kern County. It started 14 August 2023 at 18:10 UTC under the Kern County Fire Department (not a Cal Fire incident). It burned 52 acres and was 100% contained and extinguished 17 August 2023. It says nothing about how the fire was detected or reported. KBAK (Bakersfield, 14 August 2023) reported a mandatory evacuation for Skyline Drive between Saddleback Drive and Cumberland Road in Bear Valley Springs. It gave an estimated 40 acres, forward progress stopped by 2:17 p.m. and the evacuation lifted by 3:12 p.m. The Kern County Fire Department said the fire “was started by an electrical strike”. A KGET headline the same day blamed lightning and said no homes were damaged. Microsoft's “Unlocked” feature “The first five minutes” (Bruna Mori, 27 August 2026) was published after Microsoft's $5 million contribution to ALERTCalifornia. It included a $3 million Azure grant (announced by ALERTCalifornia on 3 February 2026). The feature says in 2023 ALERTCalifornia's cameras and AI helped crews rapidly detect and contain the Trotter Fire at 52 acres. Without AI-powered imaging, ALERTCalifornia founder Neal Driscoll estimates it may have spread to nearly 4,000 acres. It quotes Zachary Wells, deputy chief of the Kern County Fire Department and deputy director of operations at ALERTCalifornia. The claim is found only in Microsoft and ALERTCalifornia material. No fire-agency, regulator or independent news account of the fire mentions AI detection. None says which agency received the alert or its timing relative to 911 calls.",

None says which agency received the alert or its timing relative to 911 calls."
