"account": "Andi Burns, 19, was driving home from work on State Route 222 in Batavia Township, Clermont County, Ohio, on 22 February 2026. The Ohio State Highway Patrol accident report cited by ABC News says she lost control on black ice. She hit a tree and went off an embankment into the Little Miami River. WLWT says the truck dropped down a 15-foot ravine and flipped. ABC News (4 March 2026) reports that “According to Clermont County officials, Burns was wearing an Apple Watch that automatically called 911 using its crash detection feature”. Body-camera footage released by the Clermont County Sheriff's Office shows a dispatcher keeping her on the line. Central Joint Fire-EMS District firefighters and sheriff's deputies smashed a window and pulled her out. First-year firefighter Tommy Jetter was first into the water. Burns had found a pocket of air of about four inches at the floorboard. The accident report says she walked away with bruises. Burns told WKRC (11 March 2026) that there was also “a crash detection on the Live 360 that my mom had on her phone”. She said it called the police and her family, so a second crash-detection service may have placed calls. WLWT and ABC attribute the 911 call to the Apple Watch.",

"summary": "On 22 February 2026 near Batavia, Ohio, a 19-year-old's truck flipped into the Little Miami River; Clermont County officials say her Apple Watch called 911 by Crash Detection and crews freed her.",
"account": "Andi Burns, 19, was driving home from work on State Route 222 in Batavia Township, Clermont County, Ohio, on 22 February 2026. WLWT and ABC attribute the 911 call to the Apple Watch."
