"account": "Soubh, Rasenack, Haarmann, Zabel and Bergau reported a case in European Heart Journal - Case Reports. The authors are at the Department of Cardiology and Pneumology, University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany. It was published 15 April 2025. The event dates are not given. A 34-year-old man with no medical history consulted his primary care physician. His smartwatch had detected “heart arrhythmias” while he was asymptomatic. A 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) showed sinus rhythm with frequent premature atrial contractions (PACs). A cardiologist found a left ventricular ejection fraction of 35% with a dilated ventricle. Despite guideline-directed heart-failure therapy he returned months later with palpitations and chest pain. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed LVEF 15%. Coronary disease was excluded by computed tomography (CT) angiography. Holter recordings showed a PAC burden of 30–50%. High-density 3D mapping located the ectopic focus at the left inferior pulmonary vein. Radiofrequency ablation terminated the arrhythmia. At six months he was symptom-free with LVEF 50% and fewer than 1% PACs. Spironolactone was stopped. The authors call it the first reported PAC-related arrhythmia-induced cardiomyopathy initially detected by a wearable. The watch's brand, model and the form of its alert are not stated.",

The watch's brand, model and the form of its alert are not stated."
