"account": "On 23 June 2021 the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam displayed Rembrandt's The Night Watch with reconstructions of the strips cut from all four sides in 1715. The canvas was trimmed to fit a wall in the Town Hall. Rijksmuseum senior scientist Robert Erdmann trained artificial neural networks on the original and on a seventeenth-century copy attributed to Gerrit Lundens. They generated the missing sections in his style. Printed reconstructions were mounted around the original for the following months. Director Taco Dibbits said: “Thanks to this reconstruction, we can now see that the composition as it was painted by Rembrandt was even more dynamic.” Hyperallergic reported the project independently on 24 June 2021.",
