"account": "A case report published on 12 August 2026 describes a 69-year-old man who collapsed from ventricular fibrillation while running alone. He was on a dead-end road, hidden behind a hedge. The paper gives no date or place. The authors' hospitals are Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, and Slingeland Hospital, Doetinchem. His Apple Watch (reported as Apple Watch 10) with Fall Detection enabled detected the fall. It automatically alerted his predefined emergency contacts and the emergency medical services by calling 112. Family members reached him, found him unresponsive and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) about 6–7 minutes after the collapse. An ambulance arrived about 1.5 minutes later, defibrillated him and restored circulation. He underwent coronary artery bypass grafting and defibrillator implantation, was discharged on day 29 and made a full neurological recovery. Two interviews identify the patient as Alwi Siebers, 69, of Varsseveld, and date the collapse to 1 January 2026. Men's Health NL (28 April 2026) opens “1 januari 2026 begint voor de 69-jarige Alwi Siebers als een gewone hardloopdag. De fanatieke loper uit Varsseveld is in training voor de halve marathon van Montferland” (1 January 2026 begins for 69-year-old Alwi Siebers as an ordinary running day; the keen runner from Varsseveld is training for the Montferland half marathon). His son Tristan says “De locatie was heel precies. Hij lag achter een heg op een afgelegen plek. Zonder die melding had ik hem niet zo snel gevonden” (the location was very precise; he was lying behind a hedge in a remote spot; without that alert I would not have found him so quickly). WANT (1 May 2026) quotes Siebers, “Ik weet via mijn activiteitenlog dat ik om twaalf over twaalf aan mijn trainingsrondje begon” (I know from my activity log that I started my training loop at twelve past twelve). It reproduces the alert his son received, headed “do 1 jan, 12:12”. The interviews match the paper on the man's age and the Apple Watch Series 10 with fall detection. They also match on the automatic alert to 112 and to his emergency contacts, the hedge and the remote spot. They match on the son starting CPR and the daughter giving mouth-to-mouth, and a history of asthma and bronchiectasis. They match on six days in intensive care, four bypass grafts, an ICD and a full recovery. No source names both the paper and Siebers, so the identification is inferred from these details. Men's Health says that Siebers also pressed the SOS button himself and that a pulse returned within about three minutes. The paper's timeline does not support that: CPR after 6–7 minutes, four shocks, adrenaline and amiodarone before circulation returned. The street is probable but inferred. A fire-brigade pager message of 1 January 2026 at 12:18:59 records a resuscitation on the Oude Doetinchemseweg in Varsseveld. That is a dead-end road at the western edge of the village. The map in the alert screenshot shows the pin on a side road off the Doetinchemseweg. No source names the street in connection with Siebers.",

"summary": "Fall Detection on his Apple Watch Series 10 called emergency services, and he recovered fully after CPR and hospital treatment.",
"account": "A case report published on 12 August 2026 describes a 69-year-old man who collapsed from ventricular fibrillation while running alone. No source names the street in connection with Siebers."
